  • Al-Hussaini opens first OMEGA Boutique in Riyadh



    The prestigious Swiss watch brand OMEGA has partnered with Al-Hussaini Trading Co. to open the first OMEGA boutique in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. To celebrate the occasion, a number of VIP guests attended the opening event on Thursday 24 November 2016 including Saudi media personality Muna AbuSulayman, OMEGA representatives and board members of Al-Hussaini Trading Co.

     

    Othman Al-Hussaini - Development Director of Al-Hussaini Trading Co. – said that bringing OMEGA to Riyadh is a “step towards sharing the benefits and qualities of a unique and exceptional brand.”

     

    Located within Panorama Mall on Al-Takhassusi Street in Riyadh, the boutique is a stylish, modern space that reflects the professionalism and expertise that the global Swiss brand is renowned for. Customers will be able to explore a comprehensive selection of OMEGA’s refined timepieces and products in an atmosphere of comfort and privacy.

     

    The store design follows OMEGA's global concept, which is inspired by the natural elements of air, water and sunlight. The cream and champagne interior, with exotic reconstituted zebra wood furniture and chiselled glass surfaces, underlines the attention to detail and quality for which OMEGA has long been known.

     

    Since 1848, OMEGA has been a symbol of distinction and precision in the world of luxury watches. It has a long and varied heritage in many areas including sea and space exploration, fashion, film and sports timekeeping, in which it fulfils the role of Official Timekeeper at the Olympic Games.   • A special numbered edition is launched in the Middle East to celebrate Longines’ 185th anniversay



    Founded in Saint-Imier in 1832, the Swiss watch brand Longines celebrates its 185th anniversary this year. As a celebration and a tribute to its customers in the Middle East, Longines is launching a very special edition numbered and limited to 185 pieces. Based on a Heritage honey-coloured model re-edition of a timepiece from 1918, this watch displays Arabic numerals such as those used in the Middle East.

     

    As a tribute to its long watchmaking tradition, the Swiss brand Longines loves to reissue some of the iconic pieces that have enhanced its profile throughout its existence. This 1918 model draws its inspiration from the rich history of the brand with the winged hourglass and echoes the first bracelet-chronographs created by Longines. As with the latter, this timepiece features a dial also found on pocket watches from this period, but with Arabic numerals instead of the European ones found in the original model. Its vintage aesthetic and refined fabrication will entice admirers of fine watchmaking.

     

    Blued steel and honey-coloured varnish impart character to hands that stand out on a white-lacquered polished dial, which mark the hours and minutes on this reissued model. The small

    second hand at 6 o’clock adds dimension and contrast to the dial with its Longines’ blue colour. The honey colour can also be found on the large Arabic numerals painted on the dial, providing this emblematic early 20th century timepiece with a remarkably successful balance.

     

    This refined model is limited to 185 pieces and each model is numbered on the caseback. Measuring 41 mm, it houses an L615 automatic winding mechanical calibre. To complete the set, a honey-coloured alligator strap echoes the dominant colour of the dial harmoniously.
